Five souls were present early in the morning for the 8am departure from Medstead and Four Marks Station, on the line inspections (downhill in each direction- we may be daft but we're not stupid!) to Alton and Alresford, with John M, Keith H, and Peter J Alton bound, and Adrian C and Keith B on the longer section to Alresford. All was found to be in order, with much needed sustenance taken on board on arrival at the Stations, in the form of tea and breakfast rolls.
Returning to base on the first service trains of the day, and joined by Neil C and Paul C, tools were gathered together for the afternoon's activity, which was a continuation of fishplate oiling between Ropley and Alresford. A good start was made, progressing down Bishops Sutton cutting to the road over bridge, where time was called for lunch, before carrying on down towards the Alresford distant signal. All in all a good afternoon's work, despite being hampered by a number of seized bolts, and one of the petrol driven impact wrenches failing.
