It was the day of the Biennial PTS exam for many of the Saturday gang, with six people (Ian J, John, Neil, Paul C, Steve, and Adrian) signed up for the 10am start, courtesy of examiner Steve McNeil of the Wagon Group. Fortunately four others were also present to undertake the line inspections, including a new member Danny who departed to Alton with Graham, leaving Eddie and Keith H to tackle the Alresford section.
With everyone successful in passing the exam, and joined at M&FM by the returning line walkers, the afternoon was spent attending to a couple of jobs down the line at Northside View hut and Bishops Sutton cutting in hot and tiring conditions. Eddie and Danny continued with strimming work at the hut, while Graham, Keith H, John, Neil, Paul, and Adrian managed to replace 712 rail keys with Panloc fastenings in the cutting. An excellent achievement.
