With
a few days off I have been in North Wales this week. Over the weekend I have been on my other railway the Talyllyn, for one of their
long engineering weekends.
Last week the plans changed here with the life expired destruction of the nose
on the furthest set of points on the railway, at Nant Gwernol head shunt. This
has resulted in the topping and tailing of the service trains, beyond Aber, all
week. So a four day blitz on the pointwork has seen the removal of the nose and
belly rails and replacement with a spare pair. 40 years was the life time of
the last set, and about time for a new, second hand set to go in!
In the photo's the small gang are seen on the start of the screwing back down
of the run round road and later on the team progressing to the nose section.
All well from this part of wales, back to normal next week.
