Saturday 22nd March

From the keyboard of Jes Mania, Western Correspondent.

Today was a beautiful Spring like day and 6 of us gathered first thing for the walks. Keith B and Peter went to Alton and Ian J and Martin B went to Alresford. Adrian and John M went early to site to start a bonfire. The rain stayed away, and after the standard walks and suitable refreshments we returned to base and collected extra tools, and arrived at the site of our new P/way hut to start work.

We avoided any work on the hut today and concentrated on tidying up the arisings from previous chain saw work. Investigation was also undertaken on a number of the Culverts that are in this region, all contributing to the river Arle which passes through Alresford, please note. We eventually ended up with 2 bonfires which greatly reduced the congested site, and went someway towards making head way on the appearance of the area we are intending to clear. J M.
