A report from our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski (with photos by Nora and our southern correspondent, the Hon. J.Y. Doom).........
There were fewer in attendance this week, with 9 reporting for duty for the 8am start. John, Eddie, and Martin W formed a fencing gang, and headed off to Mounters Lane on the Alton section, where a 50 yard length required re-wiring and replacement posts.
This left Corina, Pete, and Adrian C to carry out the line inspection to Alton, and Bill, Ian J, and Brian to head to Alresford. On their return to M&FM, Ian and Pete left to fulfill prior engagements off the Railway, leaving the others to depart for The Grosvenor hut site. Whilst there, the dynamic team of 4 managed to finish the track facing wall, erect the first of the side wall timbers to each end (up to the door and window positions), and dig out the side trenches. All this while being supplied with copious amounts of tea by yours truly (and helping with the work itself...multi-tasking!)
