With a perfect Summer's evening and perhaps the realisation that the task of re-sleepering the broken sleepers on the Medstead-Ropley section was coming to an end , 11 members of the gang assembled at base shortly before.
As can be seen in one of the images, a rare view of no work at all, as the boys had to wait for the last steamer of the day to pass through the station and then for us to obtain the line occupation. Time wasted for us all, but part of the occupation process.
Once Keith H returned to base with the occupation he, Ian J, Adrian C, John, Eddie, Tony, Steve, Martin B, Martin W and the two Brian's set off to change the four remaining sleepers.
We worked with the flail in section under pre-agreed terms, and by 8pm the last of the sleepers had been changed.
We were rewarded with a stunning sunset from the NW whilst completing the last sleeper change on Wanders Curve.
