Saturday 10th September
It was a pretty miserable day weather-wise with a gang of nine assembling at M&FM. Brian Hi and Bill set off on the line inspection to Alresford, with Keith H and Adrian C Alton bound. Corina stayed behind to undercoat the newly cast Grosvenor hut name plaque, and John, Eddie, Brian Ha and Matt W walked down to Grosvenor Bank to continue with the chair nut oiling task, which was hampered by persistent and sometimes heavy rain. They managed to stick it out until lunchtime before returning to base very wet and eager to go home to dry out.

Well done all for just turning up! (Or hadn't you caught the weather forecast?) I was on child minding duty but still managed to lay several lengths of (brio) track. We had a crisis of confidence last week. With so many bolts shearing or spinning, we needed to do look at our inventory in case we did more damage than we could repair. Did the oiling team manage to ferry out more cork pads for storage in the hut? And did Eddie find his nuts?
