Saturday 8th October

Settled weather conditions greeted a gang of 8 as they assembled at M&FM for the day's activities. Adrian C and Corina headed off to on the line inspection to Alton with Keith H and Brian Hi Alresford bound. This left John, Eddie, Martin W and Brian Ha to take the company transport up to Alton to retrieve a few more chair bolts before heading down to Ropley works to begin the process of cleaning up the bolt threads, and running a die down them.

The returning line walkers were joined by Neil and Keith B, who was down for the day from deepest, darkest Shropshire, and they all spent the afternoon re-pointing the chimney brickwork and clearing the overhanging trees from the fence line at Chawton Heights hut. 

In good Pway tradition, a large bonfire disposed of the cut material. Corina also managed to fix a grotesque to the top of the chimney (we have at least one for each hut- Ed).
