Today was the perfect summers day for the team with the weather set fair and no Royal Wedding to distract the Gang. A cast of thousands gathered at Base before the day started for the usual tea and briefing.
Pete & Keith H then departed for the Alton walk, the two Adrian's and Ian J decided on the long walk to Alresford.
Meanwhile, Eddie, Martin's W & B, Chris & Brian H decided to finish off the oiling in the Alresford station area and associated sidings. This being achieved by lunchtime, they departed earlier than usual as a number had commitments elsewhere in the afternoon. Corina & John remained at base deciding to start some early restoration work on Wickham number 2.
Once the morning was over and with a number of the Gang departed, Ian J went to Northside to strim the environment around the hut.
Later he was bemused to see a Gang comprising Adrian, Corina, Pete, Chris & Martin walking by, on their way to Sutton Cutting, to do some digging out of Ballast beds (just the perfect day for that, not).
By mid afternoon, the towel was thrown in, a successful day was had by all.
