Saturday 18th January

Seven members arrived at M&FM for the usual early start, and were initially downhearted by the prospect of yet another weekends work being called off due to bad weather. The rain forecast to stop in the early hours continued to fall past 8 o' clock, with a few choice words being used in reference to the weather forecasters! Morale was lifted however when just after 8.30 the skies brightened, and with the prospect of no more rain before 3pm,  the decision was made to depart to Alresford to re-commence work on the new pway hut.

Shortly after arrival on site, the gang of seven increased to nine with the arrival of Martin B and Eddie, and excellent progress was made before calling time at 3.30pm (with no sign of rain). The last few bricks were used up by Neil and John on the chimney stack (until more bricks, Wienerberger Winchester Multi, are sourced), sleepers were cut and erected to form the walls to two sides of the hut, and the excavation of the trenches for the other two walls was nearly completed.
