A warm day with the light rain greeted the gang. After the usual the tea's and chat, they departed for their various duties.
Adrian C and Corina walked up the line to Alton and Ian J and Brian Hi went down the line to Alresford for on the line inspections and oiling. Neil and Paul joined Corina and Adrian at Alton where the former had oiled the point work.
Eddie, Keith H, Brian Ha, Ian R and Pete went down to Grosvenor embankment to continue with the fish plate oiling and completed just under 3/4 mile by the end of the day.
After the line walks Corina, Adrian, Brian Hi, Paul and Martin R (who joined the gang) went down to Northside View hut , where the ground was levelled and the new Southern style concrete chipping bin was assembled.
After lunch, one of the newly painted boundary posts was set in the ground along side the hut, and the hut door was adjusted.
Martin and Adrian did some boxing in of the track too.
Whilst Ian J continued with his favourite job of strimming.
After all the jobs were completed, Neil, Brian and Paul decided to walk up to Ropley to have a bit of a jolly. Adrian, Corina, Martin and Ian stayed at the hut so they could see the Hurricane and Spitfire flypast for the War on the Line event.
It's looking really good. I take it you still have to hurdle/ limbo the signal wire to get off the track!
