Tuesday 7th June

A report by our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski.

A beautiful Summer's evening greeted Adrian C, Corina, Keith H, John M and Ian J. It was decided to make the most of the dry and warm weather, so all departed on the Wickham down to Alresford.

Corina started by refurbishing bridge number 65, and culverts 65A,B and C.

Ian J started strimming the grass away from the outer home signal wire just outside the Eastern end of Sun Lane cutting, whilst Keith H and Adrian C started at the Western End. John was in charge of the Wickham. As time got on the gang moved back towards Ropley where Adrian and Ian strimmed around the line side furniture and the Western Northside Crossing whistle board. This strimming activity is to make the furniture visible when the flail machines cut back the vegetation on the banks in a week or so's time.
