Saturday 25th June

A gang of 7 assembled at M&FM HQ for the day's activities. Adrian C and Brian Ha set off on the line inspection to Alresford, leaving Corina to travel down to Ropley and then Alresford to oil the pointwork, and Eddie, Martin W, Ian R and John to continue with fishplate oiling on the M&FM to Ropley section (re-commencing at mile post 55 1/2, just before Rookwood Lane bridge).

After the line inspection Brian joined the oiling team, leaving Adrian to walk down the line (again!) from M&FM to Ropley, to assess in more detail the locations of the concrete sleepers to be changed during the course of the Tuesday evening work sessions.

By the close of play the 'oilers' had reached Bighton Hill bridge just outside Ropley Station, having lubricated over a mile of plates. A great effort!
