A report from our lady correspondent Nora Cliski.
An overcast and misty day greeted all at M&4M. A busy day was expected as it was "A Day Out With Thomas" week.
Adrian C, Adrian N and Corina walked up the line to Alton on the line inspection, also recording taking photos of where additional ballast was needed.
It was noted how much lighter The Shrave cutting looked with the tree clearance work which had taken place.
Brian Hi, Keith H, Adam and Jack carried out the line inspection to Alresford.
Eddie, Martin B, Martin W and Neil continued with fish plate oiling between the Whistle board London side of Wanders Crossing and Ropley (by the end of the day they had processed 3/4 mile of plates).
Once both sets of walkers had returned to base Adrian C and Corina took the company vehicle down to Ropley, as a request for possible assistance with an issue with in the parking field had been received. Due to the adverse weather over the previous couple of days the field had become very boggy on the exit route, and the supply of straw used to stabilise the ground had been exhausted. They assessed and rejected a pile of wood chip in the top car park, and ultimately it was decided that until further straw could be delivered later in the day, it was best to close the parking area.
They then went down to the Butts Junction signal box to join Adrian N and Brian in reclaiming some more bricks.
