Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th December

Following on from the digging out exercise on Saturday, Monday saw the mid-week gang complete the allotted task of changing 15 sleepers in the Dock siding. The replacement sleepers are hardwood, so it will be many years before they will need to be changed again.

Tuesday was a day of rest, with the Railway putting on the annual Christmas dinner for the gang, as a way of thanks for all their hard work throughout the year. Many thanks are extended to Nicky and Christine, who prepared the meal, and to Clive for taking on the role of waiter. Their patience had to be admired for putting up with the reprobates, especially Keith B and his demands for real wine glasses (only plastic cups were available), cheese and biscuits, and Port!
