A report by our western correspondent, Jes Mania.
Five gang members assembled at HQ for the walk. The two Keith's and John M went to Alton. Ian J and Adrian C went to Alresford on a perfect clear spring morning. The banks are a riot of primroses and cowslips at this time of year. The usual refreshments taken we returned to HQ for tools and set off to Arleside for the main task of the day.
A combination of bank clearance, hut tasks, including painting of the window and security cover along with landscaping of the immediate surrounding area, resulted in a good afternoon's work. The day finished with a slide show of photographs from an old P/way member, covering the take over of the line by the preservation movement in 1976, the grand opening in 1977, and the following years of expansion through to1983, including he extension to M&FM.
