Suitably dressed up in wet weather gear, Ian J, John, and Martin set off on the line inspection to Alton, with Eddie and Adrian Alresford bound. The return to base was followed by a continuation of rail pad replacement work in soak cutting, where in improved conditions two further lengths of track were dealt with, taking the total to five lengths. Only another nine to go over the forthcoming weeks, and hopefully a larger gang next weekend to allow the pad replacement work and the new Pway hut to progress in tandem!

Saturday 28th February
Fairly miserable weather conditions greeted a gang of five as they assembled at M&FM for the day's activities, with persistent drizzle and a chilly wind to contend with. On a brighter note, they also welcomed new member Martin W into the fold, who will be a valuable addition to the team bringing experience from his youth working on the Permanent Way on the ' big railway' in the Havant area.
