Tuesday 25th August

With rain having fallen all afternoon, many pairs of fingers were crossed hoping that a fine, dry evening would prevail, and we were not disappointed.

A team of 8 arrived at M&FM for the planned activities, the first of which was to load the Wickham trailer with the sand, cement and blocks purchased the previous Saturday, and around 450 to 500 Panloc fastenings. The former, along with re-filled water containers, were transported down the line and dropped off at The Grosvenor hut site, where two timbers were then loaded and ferried back to M&FM, for collection by an individual who is anxious to donate a substantial sum of money into the Pway coffers.

Having removed the timbers, the gang set off up the line to Reids Copse on the Alton section, where the remainder of the evening session was spent replacing rail keys with Panlocs working up towards M&FM.
