Saturday 13th February

A report by our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski.............

A very cold, wet morning greeted the gang on their arrival at M&FM, where they split up in to three groups.Keith H and Martin W headed off to Ropley to move the traffic cones further down station road as the previous day a couple of "Spring Gala" visitors had blocked some of the neighbours driveways. Richard M (normally a midweek worker) came in to look after some of the Blue Bell p-way guys, who had come up to do some photography.

Eddie, Brian and Adrian N went off down to Alresford , whilst Adrian C, Corina and John went off in the driving rain up to Alton to do the track inspections. Neil oiled the Alton points before meeting up with the gang, and Tony oiled the points at Ropley and Alresford before working on the miniature railway .

Once the Alresford and Alton services were caught back to M&FM, and after a cup of tea  to warm everyone up, the gang again split to do various jobs.
Neil and John started casting the concrete floor slabs for the Southern Railway style chipping bin. John was working up a sweat mixing the concrete, while Neil was on his hands & knees levelling it out in the moulds.

Corina de rusted the last boundary post which needed to be done, and then painted it with red oxide in preparation for finishing in signal red and white.

Eddie, Brian and Adrian N went to change a broken bolt at Wanders crossing.

Then they came back to collect Adrian C, Martin W and Keith, who all then walked down to Ropley to spanner check all of the fishplate bolts.
