Saturday 2nd July

A report by our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski.

A overcast but dry day greeted the gang. After the usual tea and catching up they split up for duties. Adrian C, Pete and Tony walked up the line to Alton, while Adrian N, Bill and Brian Hi went down to Alresford on the line inspections. Corina went and oiled the point work at Ropley and Alresford, then met Adrian C and the gang up at Alton. This left Martin W, who stayed behind at the yard to cut paving slabs ready for completing the floor at the Grosvenor Hut.

The gangs then reassembled at M&FM with Eddie, Martin R, Neil and Paul joining them.
Adrian C, Neil, Paul and Brian went down to Lymington Bottom and worked through to Ropley Station digging out sleeper beds ready for the replacement of concrete sleepers on Tuesday evenings. A great effort with 12 with dug out.

Adrian N, Eddie, Martin W, Martin R and Tony meanwhile went down to Ropley to complete the fish plate oiling.

Corina also went to Ropley to refurbish and paint milepost 56 1/2.
