Saturday 9th May

A smaller gang was in attendance following the previous weeks 'cast of 1000's', with 7 arriving at M&FM for the day's activities. Ian J and Adrian C departed on the  line inspection to Alresford, leaving Pete, Martin B, Eddie, Martin W, and John to head to Alresford to continue with the fishplate oiling task through Sun Lane cutting and into the Station.

Ian and Adrian joined the others after the walk, and despite the disappointment of a part falling off one of the impact wrenches rendering it unserviceable, the oiling work extended to about halfway through both of the platform roads by the close of play. Graham also joined the team mid afternoon having returned from the dark side (as part of the relief locomotive crew).

One more day's work should see the section completed.
