Tuesday 23rd June

With the visiting Network Rail Stoneblower out on the M&FM to Ropley section, occupation of the line was not possible, however there were a few activities that the gathered gang of 8 could tackle.

A 1000 litre water container had been donated by Martin R's place of work in Alton (many thanks) for use in the assembly of the weed killing train, and so Martin and John headed down the hill in the Company transport to collect it, closely followed by Keith B, Tony, and Adrian C. The container was brought back to M&FM and offloaded in the yard ready for use.

Iain, Ian J, and Martin W meanwhile drove to Chawton bridge on the Alton section to replace a rotten timber in the flight of steps running up the side of the bridge, and then returned to M&FM to do a spot of strimming around the lineside furniture at the rear of the down platform.
