Saturday 28th May

A report by our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski.

A sunny, warm day greeted the gang. After the usual tea and catch up they split into several groups.

Brian Ha and Bill started the walk down to Alresford on the line inspection. Corina went down to Ropley Station to finish the white numbering on the gradient post which had been started on Tuesday.

She then went on to oil the points at Ropley and Alresford Stations. Adrian C, Eddie, Martin W, Keith H, John, and Graham went down to Butts junction to continue with the fish plate oiling, completing the task down to Alton Station, and just leaving the tracks within the Station itself for next weekend.

Martin (Omah) W was doing his Arab impression to try and keep from getting so oily. Neil later joined the gang after oiling Alton points.

Once Corina, Bill and Brian had had their breakfast at Alresford Station, Corina went down to Alton to refurbish and paint culvert 46A and milepost 49 1/4.

Bill and Brian (after another cup of tea), decided to do the line inspection to Alton, picking     up litter on the way. After they arrived at Alton, the oiling gang decided to play a joke on them. The track was laid out with various pieces of rubbish from lunch, and when Brian and Bill passed on the train returning them to M&FM, there were shouts of "you missed a bit, and should have gone to specsavers". A salute of some kind was made from the departing pair!!!!
