The next stop was The Grosvenor hut, where paving slabs were loaded to take back to M&FM for cutting, followed by a trip up the line to Chawton, where leftover fence wire and scrap materials were loaded. A reasonably productive evening.

Tuesday 24th May
The first of this year's evening work parties saw a small (but perfectly formed) gang of 5 depart M&FM at 6pm in Wickham Trolley No. 2 to undertake a variety of tasks. The Wickham was fitted out with weedkilling equipment on its trailer, having been out applying weedkiller over the entire length of the line earlier in the day and on the previous day. First stop was Ropley, where the vegetation on the upside bank was strimmed to improve the sight line to the down home signal. Corina also took the opportunity to add the green top coat to the cast iron gradient post near the Harry Potter bridge, ably assisted by Adrian C, and a few timbers to the rear of the boiler shop were re-located at the request of the Operations Manager.
