Saturday 30th April & Sunday 1st May

A report by our lady correspondent, Nora Cliski.............

A dry crisp day greeted the early morning gang. After the usual teas and catching up they separated and departed for their duties.

Bill and Adrian N went down the line towards Alresford, and Brian Hi and Pete went up to Alton on the line inspections. Adrian C, Corina, Eddie, Martin W, and Keith H meanwhile went up the line to just east of the Hampshire Hunt bridge to carry on with the fishplate oiling. Later on, Eddie left and Adrian N, Neil, and Brian joined them, and by the close of play approx. 3/4 mile was completed.
Lunchtime was enjoyed sitting in the sun on Brick Kiln Land bridge.

Corina also refurbished the concrete sign at bridge number 55.

There was a two train service running with a diesel charter in between, so a busy line. Adrian C, Corina, Neil, Brian and Keith H took turns performing  advance and site lookout duties.

On the Sunday, our western correspondent, Jes Mania, continued with his strimming of the downside of the line up to Northside Crossing, and also on the south west side of the Crossing itself.
